Customer Reviews

Great little dryer, but I would recommend it only for kids, someone with fine or short hair, or for traveling. This is a very small, compact hair dryer. And it is made of plastic. If you are aware of that and still want to buy it, you will be very happy with it.I bought it to dry my daughter's hair. She is almost 6 and has thin and straight hair. I also want to start teaching her how to blow dry her own hair. This dryer is perfect for that: it's cute, light and powerful enough to dry kids hair. Her hair looks very shiny and frizzless after using it and I think it has to do with the tourmaline ceramic technology. We had a traditional blow dryer before and I definitely can see the difference. It works great!I like it for my daughter or maybe to take on a trip because it is so small and handy. Personally, I wouldn't buy it to be my staple dryer. I have a lot of very thick curly hair and this dryer would take forever to dry it. If you have thick or very long hair, look for a larger dryer in the 1800W range of power (this is 1200W).For its category, it is a great buy. Very happy with it.5Decent quality for traveling - not the best travel dryer I have ever owned I really hoped that all of the positives I've read about this hairdryer were true for me; unfortunately, I can't say the same.Pro:Super light-weight. It's effortless using this - it is under a pound because my digital scale that would show up to a tenth of a pound won't even register it.Size is very travel friendly!Seems well-built and of good quality. The cord is long enough for someone like me - I am 5'5.Comes with a diffuser and a concentrator. Although since it's so small, I don't find using the concentrator necessary, even though I use a concentrator regularly on my full-size hairdryer.Comes with its own bag that I can use as a toiletry bag when I travel.Dual voltage - I plan on taking it with me this summer to Asia, including a week in China, which uses a different power standard than the states. I do need to get an adapter, however, so that it would fit into Chinese wall outlets.Con:Ionic or not, it does not make my hair feel any better than my full-size hairdryer. In fact, it feels messier and less smooth.I think it's actually a bit too hot - I wish the air flow is more powerful without as much heat.No cold-shot option. No swivel-cord.Not foldable. My last travel dryer was a Sharper Image Ionic Conditioning Travel Hair Dryer (SI557BLK), and it was better than most full-size hair dryers I have owned, with amazing air flow on low, cold shot, and high/low setting. I accidentally killed it when I forgot to change its voltage setting in Japan... RIP my favorite dryer. Overall, I think this'll be a great travel hair dryer. I can't pretend to love it because it simply does not compare to my Sharper Image other than its weight and size. For its size, the airflow is decent, but not enough for daily, regular use. It's definitely better than those wall-mounted ones in the hotel rooms on average, but its limitations will not allow it to replace my everyday full-size.8-29-16 update:So, I took it to Asia, and to my surprise, it did not work with any of the adapters that the hotels provided, because those common adapters are not generally polarized, so needless to say, I couldn't tell you how it would work switched to 250v. Otherwise, it worked well in countries that did use the same as the US, but make sure you buy an adapter that has a polarized outlet for you to plug this thing in. I was also not too happy at how loose the switch for 250v and 120v became after the first time I switched it. Now, it's so loose that if I shake it a certain way, the arrow will move to the wrong spot.Since this has not hindered the functionality of the dryer, I won't dock a star. However, I do have concerns over its safety due to the loose switch.3Austria and Germany after a magazine recommended it as the best travel dryer for the pricePurchased for a trip to France, Austria and Germany after a magazine recommended it as the best travel dryer for the price. It definitely got the job done! I am not a fan of hotel hair dryers and also need the concentrator attachment for styling, and this fit the bill. Switching the voltage was easy. Do not expect it to the job of your normal dryer -- it's smaller and not as powerful. But, if you're packing light for a Europe trip, you really can't beat this little dryer, especially for the price and the ability to switch the voltage.4My boyfriend bought me a hairdryer specifically manufactured to European wattage and it worked fine for meBought this to take to England with me but even with the converter the "low" temperature was hotter than the "hot" over here. Practically singed my hair every time. I left it there and brought it back with me the last trip and I will use it over here. My boyfriend bought me a hairdryer specifically manufactured to European wattage and it worked fine for me.3Tiny and packs a punch, but it's hungry for your hair. This is a pretty good travel dryer. Unfortunately if you have long hair, be really careful with it. It's a powerful little thing, and it will suck any nearby hair into the rear fan. I've lost quite a bit of power from it by doing just that on the first use. It's nice and small, but I do wish there was a folding handle with it as it's still awkward. I think if the dryer hadn't eaten a large chunk of my hair, I'd return it and sacrifice some of the compactness for a folding handle, it makes it a little bit easier to pack into a toiletries bag. I like that it's ceramic, it made my hair look pretty good. Like others have mentioned It does also get REALLY hot, but I don't know if that's just because there's a small dog's-worth of my hair in the fan. It would be nice if it had a cool setting.3light and hotI bought this for my 7 year old to use with ease so mostly I was looking for something lightweight. i was surprised how tiny it really was when it arrived, but I have a hard time visualizing measurements, when it is important I get out a tap measure. The color was a big hit as was the black and wihite zebra travel bag. My 7 and 3 year old are both able to use this easily, the 3 year old with supervision, and provided us a good time to talk about safety with electricity and water. They don't hit themselves in the head with this like they did with my big clunker, it is very light and easy to use. The switch is simple with just off, low and high, I wish there was a heat setting because it does get hot and you have to keep it moving, I think it is powerful and works almost as good as my larger hair dryer4I was hoping to love this and definitely didn tI was hoping to love this and definitely didn t. I needed a travel small and dual voltage hair dryer and a diffuser. This is awesome small travel size and has the dual voltage feature, but the diffuser was so small it didn t work effectively and took forever on my long hair. The main reason though I m only giving two stars is the dryer vent sucked up my hair and it pulled and got caught and was awful. I haven t had a dryer do that since I was in middle school. I do think it could work for you if you have short hair and don t need the diffuser. But if you need a diffuser or have longer hair I would not recommend this.2Ceramic really makes a difference!I have fine textured, prone to dryness hair that has taken me 50+ years & no expense spared to tame it to my satisfaction. I thought I had the perfect hair care routine and best products to use down. So I was skeptical of the claims for 'ceramic positive ions blah blah'...OK, whatever. I just bought this dryer for the lower watts & small size, because the standard sized power-monsters blow the shape right out of my cut.But I was pleasantly surprised, even a little amazed at the improved body & texture of my hair the first time I used this dryer. And it's an improvement that holds up all day, even in the dry winter air that usually leads to static.5... my trip to Italy and France - it worked great with the outlet adapterI bought this for my trip to Italy and France - it worked great with the outlet adapter! I didn't blow any fuses and it worked awesome on my hair. I am now house sitting for someone in the states, and brought this with instead of my big blow dryer. I use the small diffuser for my curly hair. It works just as good as my big blow dryer. I hope this review helps others who need/want a blow dryer for Europe. I wanted a lower wattage blow dryer, that is easy to pack - and it met all my needs. There is two settings - low and high - and I used both. It also has a 250 and 125 option - which I'm not sure what that is for (I haven't looked at the manual), but I kept it on the setting it came on (125).5I love this MiniPro hair dryerUpdate January 2017: I still like this hair dryer when it works. The unit stopped working after about 9 months. I did the reset thing and nada no power. I believe in giving a company the chance to make good on their 24 month warranty so I contacted them via email and they responded by telling me I had to call their customer service line 800-326-6247 in case anyone else needs it. They told me that if I didn't have my receipt to find the model number on the handle OR the serial number on the metal prong which are difficult to find. When you call be prepared to be on hold for a while listening to elevator music. The first customer service rep asked me for the model number even though I have my receipt. I asked her to hold on while I put the phone down to find the model number. I guess I took too long as she hung up on me. I got the model number and called back, listened to music and a gentleman took my model number but then asked for the serial number. I asked him to hold on while I put the phone down and to please not hang up on me. I found the number and he handled the rest of it. It tool almost 45 minutes for me to finalize the calls. Now I have to return the broken unit to a local warehouse along with $7.00 for shipping and handling. Not to mention I have to pay for shipping it to the warehouse. Jeezzzz! The original purchase was $21.44 including tax. Not sure it's worth the time and money. My husband is laughing at me (ha ha ha) as he told me to just buy another one when it broke. Guess he's right this time.:) Disappointed as my previous mini hair dry lasted over 20 years. They just don't make things like they used to.April 2016 - I love this MiniPro hair dryer. My previous mini hair dryer, also by Conair, finally burnt out after over 20 years of use! I hope this new mini will last as long. I like the new features of the tourmaline ceramic as it does keep the static down to a minimum. I have long hair and it takes just minutes to dry with this hair dryer.5Perfect for hair like mineI have stick straight baby fine hair, and generally can't use hair dryers because they're too hot, and too strong. This dryer is GREAT for hair like mine because it's more gentle. 50 years ago when the first hand-held hair dryers came out, they were 900 watts -- and they've gone up over time -- the "standard" now is 1875 -- but this Conair is 1200 watts, which is better for more delicate hair. BTW -- the photo looks purple on my computer screen, but the dryer is actually a bright fuscia.5PERFECT for fine/thin hair! This little blowdryer is AWESOME! I understood that it would be small when I read the measurements, but seeing it for yourself is something entirely different -- it is really small. I feel like I'm using a Barbie blowdryer. BUT! Don't let its small size and weight fool you -- this dryer has got some major oomph! I've read that women with thin, fine hair need to use hairdryers with low wattage -- like, 1200 to 1500. (Even 1875 Watts, which is the standard, is too high.) So this little guy seemed perfect. Thanks to this blowdryer, I'm actually taking care of my fragile hair live I've been told countless times by stylists: I towel dry, then heat-style it with the Conair Mighty Mini when most of my hair is dry (which, as my fellow fine-haired ladies know, does not take long at all). It comes with a diffuser and a concentrator nozzle. And for those with normal/thicker hair, this is a perfect travel-sized dryer -- set the heat to "HIGH" and be amazed at the power that this wee dryer packs. Also, I love that it has dual-voltage settings, one for the U.S. and the other for Europe (and wherever else they use 250V) -- just pack along your outlet adapter and you're set! PLUS, this dryer won't weigh down or take up room in your suitcase at all.***EDIT: A week before buying this blowdryer, I'd gotten the ends of my hair trimmed. After using the Mighty Mini for a couple of weeks now, I've been able to maintain healthy-looking ends, which is a huge achievement for my fragile hair. I really do think that the combination of letting most of my hair air-dry and then using a low-wattage hairdryer like this awesome Conair one is what is saving my hair. Could not recommend it ENOUGH.5Perfect for my toddler I bought this to dry my toddler's hair. It works perfectly for that function. She has fine hair, and not a ton of it, so the low setting gently dries her hair within a few minutes without being too loud or too hot. It's also the perfect size to fit in a drawer and not take up too much room when not in use. I've only had it for a few months, so I hope it holds up. If it does, I can see this being useful for several years into her childhood. 5I was about to return it because it looks like a toy hair dryer and then I thought let ...I was about to return it because it looks like a toy hair dryer and then I thought let me just give it a try and see. And was I amazed, I have curly hair so I used it with the diffuser, the diffuser is TINY which makes it difficult but besides that great blow dyer with the same power as the large ones, I kept it for the gym bag and travel because everyone knows those hotel hair dyers are garbage.4
