You're in luck, these stay stuck & remove the yuck!Update 01.08.18:These things stick to skin like it's nobody's business... Seriously, these things would survive the apocalypse and still be stuck right smack dab where you stuck 'em.Okay, jest aside, been using and reordering these for a few months now, and I'm throughly impressed with their stickiness. As long they are applied to clean, dry, skin, they will stay put for 7 days (maybe more but I take them off by then). SEVEN DAYS!!! That's with no lifting around the edges or any gross stuff. Yes, they stay put through showering and even cleansing on top of that. Honestly, I have no idea what more people could want from a product like this.- Sticks on you through the apocalypse? Check.- Keeps your grubby hands off your spots? Check.- Sucks out the nasty from those nasty spots? Check.- Free of any weird side effects or reactions? Check.- Plays well with makeup? Check.- Incognito even sans makeup? Check.- Doesn't break the bank? Check.Do the math. It's a no brainer.Original review:Perfect. Seriously. They're thin, but thick enough to conceal, and tapered around the edges which allows them to blend in with your skin surprisingly well. Barely visible without makeup on, they can be worn under makeup to where they're practically invisible - jackpot!5Why weren't these invented years ago? These patches heal popped pimples either overnight or within a few days. I never travel without them and I always stock up.But I'll be honest. All brands of hydrocolloid patches work equally well, and I've tried several. If you're going to bed or you don't care how you look, order the Exuderm thin patches. They're cheap, a pack lasts forever, and you can cut them to size if you're having a massive breakout. This brand excels when you want to be discrete and wear them in pubic. These are the thinnest dots Ive found on the market and they're matte, so they blend well into the skin. They can make an angry red spot less noticeable. All the other brands are shiny and thick and much more noticeable.A couple of tips: They're hard to peel off at first without folding an edge. Pull them off the backing with a tweezers. Secondly, don't apply right after you've put on moisturizer or they'll slide down your face. If your face is dry, they'll stay put until you peel them off.5Does what it says on the box! These work as billed. I've used them mainly for the cystic "red giants" that occasionally appear on my face, which are painful and unsightly and take forever to heal. I've used these by putting a salicylic acid medicine on the spot, then covering it with one of these patches and leaving it on overnight while I sleep. The patch seems to speed healing time and the pimples don't become as large or as inflamed while I'm using the patch. One thing I have noticed, though, is that I seem to get better results if I wear the patch overnight, and then just wear the medicine on my face during the day. I developed one of those giant pimples one weekend when I was headed to a wedding (nightmare!), and I wore patches on it a lot over those three days. It was helpful, but I still feel like I get better results if I give my skin some "air time" while it's healing. 5A true gamechangerThese are by far the best pimple dots I've tried (and I have tried many). They're reasonably priced (especially if you buy in bulk), they stay put, they're fairly easy to apply, and they're the right size for most of my needs. They also work on cold sores in a pinch (however I definitely recommend the Compeed Cold Sore Patches, they're absolutely the best in size, shape, & functionality).Just make sure your skin is clean, take advantage of the two-part perforation on the back so you never need to touch the patch to apply, and let it do its work. They don't have any medicine inside them, they just absorb the grossness, keep you from futzing with it, and most importantly keep the area clean!5Great for people who like to pick!!These work pretty good. They're not invisible and don't look great under make-up. You can see the circular shape of the bandage. I still think a circular shape is better looking than a giant embarrassing open wound caused by a popped cystic pimple. They keep the area clean and free of make-up and germs which in return promotes faster healing. They also help me from picking at it. I recommend these.4Where have you been all my life???I wish I had found this YEARS AGO!!!! I am a compulsive picker of all blemishes! I make them angry! I make them infected! I cant stop myself! They take forever to heal because of this! I can't feel this once applied, it feels completely smooth with my fingers, there's nothing to pick! They are minimally visible, but still looks much better than an angry zit! I am a customer for life! Love love love! 5MIRACLE PRODUCTThese are AMAZING. I don't wear them under make up or anything, not sure why people are doing that. I put them on before bed. It's a very thin little dot & when you pull them off in the morning you can actually SEE & to a lesser degree FEEL the oil that was absorbed from the zit. You'll notice the dot is completely flat at application & a bubble of oil trapped in it when you pull it off. As a test I placed one on my face where there was no zit one night & there was no bubble where it had absorbed. I love this, keeps me from picking. I bought one pack to try & I just ordered a 3 pack because it's amazing.5doesn't go under makeup but still rocks!OK. After reading many reviews I decided to give these a try. I love them! I use it at night and wakeup the next morning to a softer, healed area. With that said I was a bit bummed that it shows under makeup. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to be unnoticeable (see photo)But oh well. . They still rock!4New version is inferiorAs of this month s subscribe & save delivery, this product is completely different than what I used to get. The original Cover Dot Acne patches were thin and you could even wear them out in public if you had a nasty blemish. The new replacement version is more like the Nexcare acne patch they are thicker and do not stay adhered as well. And they are noticeable. You are not going to want to leave the house wearing one of these on your face.Unfortunately, I didn t open the package and see they were different until my old (better) product was already gone, so I had to open and use a patch from the new pack (something is better than nothing). Otherwise, I would be returning these to get a refund.1Great solution for my blemishes!Absolutely the best possible solution for me. To give a little more background, I have normal/dry combo skin, and I get cystic blemishes at times. I'm very pale, so even the regular hydrocolloid bandages on the market are too yellow and visible. I have tried just about every acne solution out there, including pricey systems like Proactiv. Gentle formulas still end up causing me to have dry flaky patches, and sometimes the blemish still has residual oil/pus trapped, which inhibits healing. I also have a tendency to end up with small scabs that are easily irritated when washing my face, and the use of coverup exacerbates the cycle.I've tried using different transparent dressings such as Tegaderm, which is very expensive and tends to appear shiny, and doesn't always stay on or gets wrinkles. I also struggle with having to cut it up into smaller pieces as I don't need a huge patch for a small blemish. I discovered the hydrocolloid acne patches when looking for smaller sized bandages, and ordered a few brands. The other brands were thicker, more yellow, and did not stay on very well. They were very visible, and didn't have the tapered edge. The Cover-Dots were much better, and do a great job of helping me avoid squeezing or using makeup that clogs more pores or causes the blemish to crust up and look even worse. They've reduced healing time substantially, and have helped me cut back on makeup use. I've already recommended them to friends who also felt they were a really fabulous solution to their breakouts. If you have mild to moderate acne that is aesthetically distracting and don't want to keep using makeup to cover it, this could be a good way to handle it. I don't know how visible they are on other complexions, but they're barely visible on my face until you're really close up, and far less visible than using coverup makeup in my experience so far. You can leave them on for a while, even several days, but I usually change mine twice a day, especially when the white area is visible showing that the bandage has absorbed exudate. You can attempt to put makeup over them, but the smooth surface doesn't really allow makeup to stick. Maybe airbrush foundation would be more effective but I don't use regular foundation enough to have purchased one.I like them so much I've purchased several more packages so I can continue using them and share them with others so they can also try them and enjoy the ease of use and great results.5Goodbye Cystic TyrantsI never really got acne as a teenager and thought that I had lucked out. Unfortunately when I was twenty-two and just starting grad school, the nightmare that is cystic acne began. It was so painful and I wished I had just gotten the non-cystic kind back when I was a teenager and everyone else had it. When it first started I would try to pop them, using my fingers or one of those pimple extractor tools. What a huge mistake, which left me punished by an even more disfiguring skin condition called impetigo. As a result, I started seeing a dermatologist. The dermatologist prescribed me a multitude of topical treatments, but nothing seemed to work. Right when my skin would start clearing up, a new cyst would pop up. I would try to schedule an appointment to get cortisone injections right when I felt a cyst forming, only to be told the soonest I could come in was a week later. For those that struggle with cystic acne, you probably know how these little cysts like to grow and conquer a huge portion of your face (forehead for me) as well as your self-esteem in the matter of days. So there was no way waiting days to get an appointment was an option for me. Especially when traveling where a dermatologist visit is not possible. However, I finally perfected a skin routine that keeps my acne manageable, and my skin looking great. It is not a cure to acne, but it has lessened the frequency and quantity of my acne and treats the infrequent cysts and blemishes that I do get with extremely fast results.1. Every morning and night cleanse your skin with a non-exfoliating, gentle cleaner using just your clean fingertips and warm water. (DO NOT USE a washcloth, face brush/polisher, Konjac sponge, etc.). Let your skin air-dry.-I cleanse my skin with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, For all skin types2. Then apply a small amount of acne spot treatment to your cyst or blemish.-I personally like Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Fast-Acting Salicylic Acid Acne Spot Treatment.3. After the spot treatment is dry place the cover-dot over the blemish/cyst.-These things are great, however I think they are noticeable in public even if you try to cover them with makeup, which is why I only wear them when I am at home, sleeping, or on an airplane.-I also use these Cover-Dots for non-acne related skin irritations, like split lips I get from having chapped lips.4. Wait about five minutes to make sure the adhesive bond between the Cover-Dot and your skin has formed. Then apply whatever moisturizer works for you over the rest of your face.-I personally like using Glo Therapeutics Oil Free Moisturizer or Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion.5. When the Cover-Dot turns white or you need to be seen in public, remove the Cover-Dot.-I try to keep the Cover-Dot on for as long as possible so it has more time to heal and it comes off easily.6. Repeat steps 1&2 (Face Cleanser and Acne Spot treatment gel).7. Apply your moisturizer to your entire face (don't avoid the acne)8. Next apply a sunscreen that works for you, making sure to avoid your eyes.- I hate using sunscreen outside of the SPF contained in my makeup because it makes me break out or it stings my sensitive skin, even the glorified EltaMD. If I'm not spending the day at the beach, I only use sunscreen as a spot treatment over my blemishes, acne scars, and smile line wrinkles. -The sunscreen I use is Neutrogena Pure and Free Baby Sunscreen. I'm sure there is a better sunscreen out there, but this one I know does not sting my irritated skin.9. If you wear makeup, apply it now.-The makeup routine that works best for my acne troubles is as follows:I apply Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 30. It is amazing. Because of the way this foundation fills in my pores and kind of has a priming effect, I apply concealer on top of it. I use a makeup sponge and apply Glo Minerals Camouflage Oil free Concealer Makeup or Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer over any blemishes, scars, marks that remain visible. Then I use bareMinerals Warmth as a cheek contour, bareMinerals blush, and bareMinerals mineral veil.10. Spray your face with Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater for the finishing touch!-This step is especially helpful for me since it helps set my powder makeup.P.S. I have also tried the 3M Nexcare Acne Absorbing covers and Dream Dots, but these SMARTMED Cover-Dots are my #1. The Nexcare ones are much thicker and harder than these. The Dream Dots are similar to SMARTMED's Cover-Dots and I wouldn't say they are better or worse than the SMARTMED brand, but the Dream Dots are more expensive and only come in packs of 24 dots for $16.99, while you can get a 48 Cover-Dot pack for $15.75.P.P.S. I know my review was long, with lots of product recommendations, so I feel the need to let you know that I DID NOT receive any free product or compensation for this review.5AMAZING!I've been dealing with cystic acne for 30+ years and have tried everything you can think of to rid myself of acne. I've taken Accutane 3 times (this works wonderfully until about 6 months after I stop, then it all comes back) , Curology, Murad, Rodan & Fields, Proactive, as well as anything and everything else that's been on the market claiming to work for severe acne. Years of antibiotics, creams, serums, etc. Nothing helps, ever. I assumed the same would happen with these but my Curology NP recommended that I try them and WOW I cannot believe that they work! I used 10 of them my first night and woke up the next morning to 9 flat cysts. Tonight will be my 2nd time using them and I can't wait to see the results. If you've tried everything, give these a shot and you might be surprised.5Have compared with 2 other brandsI LOVE these! I can only compare to the Nexcare brand, but I am trying other brands as well. These are way less noticeable on my face, I am fair skinned. They work really well but seem to take longer absorbing gunk than the Nexcare. With that being said, I prefer these because they are less noticeable and they actually stay on your face. Nexcare brands is thicker and doesnt seem to stay on as well. They keep my pimple from becoming more red and ugly. Definitely recommend!Update: I have tried the MedCA brand and they work pretty well, but the dots are shiny. I know that may not be a big deal for most, but I wear these dots around my house and sometimes while in the car when picking up/dropping my kids off at school. Never know who will show up or who I'll see. I still prefer the Cover-Dot brand.5The Best Hydrocolloid Dots I've Tried I use these for small face wounds, and they have the most invisible appearance so far, and the matted texture does allow makeup to stick to it. The tapered edges help with this, and make the spots more difficult to remove prematurely. I do wish these lasted longer, like some of the other brands. 5Best product like this I've tried These are a bit pricey, if you are blessed with my skin, but work better than anything else I've tried. They work better than similar alternatives I tried because they were a bit cheaper. I was having an endless spell of cystic breakouts, so tried to save a few bucks. But, these look the most invisible when you first put them on. And if they are applied well, stay on very well. I'd sure like to not need these at my age, but until I fix the source, I'm glad they exist! 5My favorite pimple treatmentThese are awesome! If I get a pimple, they help it go away by treating it, and the dots also keep my moisturizers away from the area so I don t make it worse. I just put the dot on clean, dry skin before bed, and then apply my skincare products on the rest of my face. The dot is really discreet, so i can hardly see it and it covers any redness, actually making my skin look better. As far as daytime use, I would probably wear these out and about running errands, but I would not wear them to work. Although the color blends seamlessly, the texture is different. Since I work face to face with the public, I think it could be visible, and I d rather just wear concealer.I have tried dream dots, and these are basically the same except I like this packaging better. These are packaged in a thin cardboard envelope-type of box, so they don t take up any space in my medicine cabinet.5
