As described I have super thick and long hair so I went with the 6 inch. Really wished I had gone with the 4.. The quality and color are great and it holds my hair like a champ. 4Ok The finish could have been better. I also smoothed some of the edges my self. And added a extra coating on the fork. Other than that it worked fine in my hair. 4Great Styling Tool A pair of these sticks can hold my very thick and long hair in a neat and comfortable bun all day long. Easy to use, simple but attractive and well made. 5Great for thick hair! I have stupidly thick hair and little will hold it up in a chignon or bun. But this stick will hold my hair without extra help and it has yet to break. Bonus, it comes with two. I keep one in my purse and one in my bathroom, which makes it convenient when I can't find a hair tie. This fork is something I've wanted for years, but somehow always place things for me on the back burner. It is simple, utilitarian, and 100% rosewood. My hair is blonde, straight, fine, and the length, which is getting rather close to my hips, needs to be put away for around the house, and at bedtime. Prior to this I was about to grab the scissors and remove it all! It can be quite a nuisance. Now I brush it, and with this, I have no tangles caused by pony tail holders, etc., at all. I've been wearing this 100% of the time since I got it, even to bed, and it is right where I left it in the morning. You may have to secure it if your hair is as long as mine, and you do alot of bending over, liked playing with the dog, it may work itself loose. I simply twist my hair up, and weave it in. Even if it does fall out when playing with the dog, it is a matter of seconds to put it right back in. I personally don't secure it with extra pins, Just the fact that I can lay down, or sit back against the pillow, or couch with my neck problems and I don't feel it is worth its weight in gold. My order was shipped the same day I placed it, arrived in approximately three days , with a very nice handwritten note from the seller which you don't see at all these days. I will be ordering more soon. Product is excellent for the money, and while there are more out there with fancier carvings on them, this is not obtrusive at all, simple and elegant, for half the price. Highly recommended. The tines are at least 3/8" wide at their widest, has a very slight spring to it, and the wood is so durable, you really could jump up and down on it without it breaking.
