Customer Reviews

Got my full 100 and am a repeat customer So, this was actually a reorder. I ordered them a few years ago, and I had recently ran low. When I read the reviews, I noticed people mentioning that they didn't get the 100 hair ties they ordered. So, I wanted to be sure I got what I paid for. I did get my 100 hair ties. In fact, I got 101 hair ties. Some mentioned that there's more solid hair ties than patterned, which I thought would be the case from the stock photo for the item and was the case in my set. In my set I got 20 patterned hair ties, including the 4 lace hair ties. If you're wondering about what kind of colors you'll actually get, I got pretty much every color in the rainbow. In regards to neutral colors, I got 4 white, 4 black, 4 grey, 2 brown. I also got 2 white lace and 2 black lace. I recommend these hair ties. You get a lot for the money and way more than you can buy in store. I've even ordered a set of the 20 black hair ties. 5Buyer beware I did get 100 hair elastics. They were not the exact patterns pictured in the listing. Nowhere in the listing does it say the buyer gets a random assortment.I am not taking stars off for that as that s pretty typical with these giant packs of items.I am giving this item only two stars because there s an awful glue smell I have not smelled in any other cheap bulk item I ve purchased from Amazon. You can see that the hair ties are also different lengths. If there s one thing I want consistency in it is hair tie length. This means adjusting how I use a tie based on length versus quickly grabbing one to use in my hair.I don t like that the ties are different textures, specifically, ones that are lacy along a border. I don t like that look. There are many different types of ties in this package which isn t what I wanted at all. 2Love these! I primarily got these because I needed ... Love these! I primarily got these because I needed multiple colors of stretchy ribbon for a project, but like most women, I can always use more hair ties. I have really long and thick hair and these only will wrap around my bun twice and a pony three times, but it s enough to keep it in place for several hours, plus I love being able to match my hair ties to basically any outfit I have. The price is great and you get so many you can t loose getting this. Every color and pattern has at least 2 each and the white and the black had 4 and 5 each. Pictured is the bow holder I made for my daughter by untying the pony s and stapling/hot glueing them on to the back of a window decor piece I had laying around. Trim off the excess ribbon and voila! Couldn t be happier with this! 5Highly Recommended: 1 Tie Lasts 1.5 months, No Hair-aches, & Very Little Hair Bump I bought these mainly for the no hair headache claims and I was frankly tired of the no tear hair ties that still wound up with a clump of my hair. I bought the 100 solid ties pack for ~$10 on Prime day. They arrived on the 14th and I've been using them since they arrived.I haven't had a hair-headache since I started using them, and I've wrapped my bun very tight sometimes. I do still have a hair bump when taking it down but it's less often and diminished so much, it's hardly a big deal. Before, it looked like I crimped that terrible halo into my hair. It does occasionally grab a strand or two out, but not only is it much less than the elastic ties, it's much easier to remove them. No more hair ball wraps!Which is really important because when not in use I keep my hair tie on my wrist. (It may not last, but these also look better when you're wearing them as a bracelet, fyi.) Every time I take it out, it's all curled around in a spiral, which ends up staying put. I don't mind and it works just fine. But if you want it to stay straight, you're going to have to fix it yourself every time.Even when I've only wrapped it twice around a bun with almost enough to make it three times, it's secure. Which makes a huge deal because I'm not in pain from wrapping it too tight and the tie lasts longer. My daughter loves them for the same reasons I do. I have fine thick damaged hair while she has thick wavy hair. We both have hair past our shoulder blades. However, the last day or so I've noticed it's bugging me because it's stretched out too much and weak.I've been wearing one black one almost constantly. I often change my hair from down, to ponytail, to bun to half-bun several times during the day depending on different factors. Not because it needs to be re-done because it's loose or anything, but because I want to. I mess with my hair a lot, it helps my attention, attitude, and thinking. (Yeah, I'm weird.)I attached a picture so you can see how it looks after a month and a half of my usage. The next picture is one unused purple tie, a brown one used once and taken down for the picture and again my 1.5 month black one. It's clearly on it's last leg but it lasted through a lot of punishment from me better than the regular no tear elastic ties. Even in it's current state, it's useful. I just wrapped it around a cord to keep it together. :DThey weren't as miraculous as claimed but they are the best hair ties I've used and I love them. And there's 100 of them. That's enough to keep me and my daughter for years, even with my hard use and some being lost. I highly recommend it to anyone. 5For those with thinner hair, these hair ties are so-so- but they do work and are a good value! I have fairly thin hair that is also straight and very smooth, so read on if you are in the same boat:Cons: Since I don't have tons of hair, these simply don't hold my hair as well. The worst is at the gym, I can never get one of these hair ties tight enough that my ponytail doesn't slowly sag and come loose several times during my workout. They also slowly stretch out over a few uses, making them less and less effective over time.Pros: These hair ties don't leave as bad of a dent when I take my hair down- there is still a small dent if I've had my hair up all day, but not like with the regular elastics. They are also clearly gentler on my hair; I find fewer hairs attached to these hair ties after I take my hair down and I can feel that they don't pull on my hair as bad. Also, as someone prone to migraines, they have a gentle hold that doesn't hurt my head at all, even if I fall asleep in them. Regarding one of my cons, even though they do stretch out, they are a great price for 100 hair ties, so even if I toss one every week or two, I still have enough to last for years! Finally, this is neither good or bad, I have found that the knots can be tightened by pulling at the ends or by taking the knots out and re-tying them so that the hole is smaller which helps it hold my thin hair a little better. I can't always get them to just the right size, and it can take some fiddling to get the knot tightened or to unknot and retie, but it can help. It is just annoying that after all of that work, the hair tie is useless a week or so later. Once I run out of these (in 5 years or so) I'm going to just get a spool of the elastic ribbon used for these and make my own smaller versions! 4Alright, but other brands are preferred If you're looking for an affordable alternative to the expensive brands, I'd recommend for you to keep looking, or just succumb to the pricier brands. The mixed bag has about half and half patterns to solids, which is more prints than what comes with the prints and solids pack, so there's that. The prints are also pretty cute, and as one other reviewer mentioned, quite a few polka dotted patterns. I'd say 70% of the patterns were polka dots. The quality of the hairties was... alright, but not quite satisfactory. Most of the ribbon material, especially the printed ones, were quite rough and scratchy, which isn't TOO terribly annoying, but makes the lower quality more noticeable when compared to the other brands. I can't say quite how non-damage these are, but the rough material makes me doubt these are as gentle on your hair as other kinds (I have tough, thick asian hair that I haven't layered recently - so, even thicker than usual - and I think it's saying something when I feel nervous for possible hair damage). Another sign of the quality is that all the ties are tied a little differently, making some tighter and some looser, and most needed to be retied. Again, nothing too disastrously low quality, but it's definitely not great. The chemical smell people have been talking about is pretty strong right out of the bag, but it's survivable. They hold up pretty nicely on their initial uses, but I have yet to see how well they hold up over time.I also bought a pack of emi-jays, the original no-crease ribbon ties, and the goody brand ribbon ties to compare with these and see if the brand name really made a difference. I'll summarize how I feel about the other brands below. (quick note: when I judge how well these hold up, I'm tying back all of my hair into a ponytail. My hair is quite thick and heavy, so if it works for me, it will most likely work for you. If you like tying up braids or little half ponytails, I think most brands will be satisfactory.)Emi-jayMy impression of these is that they are great quality, though I can't say yet about how well they'll hold up over time. One small difference I noticed between these and the other two brands is that the way the little tag of the ribbon tie is cut slanted rather than straight. It makes the Emi-jays look cuter and higher quality, if you're into that. If you want to purchase these at a more affordable price, they have flash sales that you can get notified about by email, and an on sale category on their website. They hold up well, are soft and comfortable when worn on the wrist, and most likely don't damage your hair as much as these scratchy Kenz Laurenz ones. They're also thicker in width, and the tie tag is longer. But again, quite pricey for a product that you usually need to buy in bulk, so these are more of a functional fashion accessory than a hair utility.GoodySo incredibly loose! They really don't hold up my hair as well as the other two brands. I'd say Kenz Laurenz only passes on that test because the stiffness of their hairties makes for a tight hold and can actually hold up my heavy hair, despite being possibly more damaging and uncomfortable on my wrist for long periods of time. However, the goody ribbon material is soft and comfortable on the wrist, and seems to be gentler on the hair. These could work well for thinner and finer hair if you wrap it around thrice, or for buns and loose ponytails for people with hair like mine. For me, they only make it around twice, so it slips too easily.I have a few more Emi-jay packs coming in soon with some of their flexx hair ties, which I'm anticipating because they're made for working out and might be stronger and hold up better than the normal kinds. Hopefully they'll be a better investment than these were. 3Don't buy! I love them until I had seen the left a black residue on my wrist!Few hours later, still haven't been able to wash out--as it turns out--dye on my wrist.I only had hair tie on wrist during 30 min nap. 1Like the hold I purchased the mix bag that was slightly more expensive in the hopes it would have more patterns than other reviewers lamented. Seems true, 50% are patterns. Like the hold, my hair is fine but thick and just two wraps is fine. I think trying a hair band for the first time at 100 count might be silly but it costs almost the same as the 20 packs. There are a lot of repeats and for me way to many polka dots but for the price they are very cute. 5Hair Tie Convenience I love these hair ties because the colors and fun designs dress up my pony tail and they hold my hair secure without causing the usual ponytail "sore area on your head". They come in mostly solid colors with a few patterns sprinkled in here and there. The material on most of the ties is slightly pearlescent and a very rich color with a lot of stretch to it. They hold tight in my hair without slipping and with the wide variety of colors I can color coordinate with my outfits. The come out of your hair easier than traditional ties and don't cause as much hair breakage. Additionally, when I leave the house in the morning I put one on my wrist to wear as a pretty bracelet that I can put my hair up in later if I want to when it gets hot out here in Hawaii. My teen daughter loves the animal, skull, Aztec, lace, and mustache pattern/prints. I've included a picture of the ones my daughter picked out of the batch, one of my favorites, and one of a few wild ones. 5This pack is great - 100 hair ties for less than $10 I was always running out of hair ties before. This pack is great - 100 hair ties for less than $10. I keep most of them in the bathroom drawer, but there are so many that I'm also able to keep a few handy in my purse, car, and desk at work. No more running out of the house, and realizing mid-day that I can't put my hair up!As is, they are a little too small to keep on my wrist. But the knots come a little loose, so you can stretch them out before you use them the first time (when I take them out of the package for the first time, I just stretch the hair tie which serves to 1. move the knot closer to the ends, so that the hair tie can fit around my wrist without being uncomfortable and 2. tighten the knot so that it stays in place afterward). If you wanted, you could also make the hair ties a little smaller, just do the opposite (grab the ends and pull in opposite directions). 5
