Customer Reviews

Too softI got this to use as a push eyeliner brush. It is too soft to be used for that purpose. Quality was ok.3Good brush, good value, not for beginners or those looking for a stiff brush It's nice and thin, good for fine lines but it's going to be a little too soft for anyone without a precise, light hand. If you're heavy handed, this isn't a good brush for you and you need a stiff bristle. For that same reason, it isn't a beginner friendly brush. I am building up my makeup collection and I am able to work with the softness so for me it's worth keeping. The price is okay, in a good ballpark, could be a dollar cheaper. Well constructed, no frayed hairs and the brush hasn't fallen apart during washes. Cosmetology student tip: try to keep water and cleaner away for the part where the hairs meet the silver ferrule on the brush to avoid loosening the glue over time. Your brushes will last longer. 4Great brushI washed these before using and they came out perfectly. I really love these brushes! I have other brushes which I thought were great, NO, these brushes put my others to shame! I haven't used every single one of them yet, but the five I have used were incredible! I was NOT given these for my review, I purchased them, and I could give them 10 stars. You definitely won't be disappointed, so glad I decided to just try them!5good buyLove the brushes. The handle feels sturdy and the bristles are soft. I tried them out for the first time using a new color pallet and the colors came out great.5Recommended I use this brush daily to apply eye shadow as eye liner and it's perfect. The only issue I encounter is it is quite long - I hit the mirror every day when I'm applying. This is such a small complaint, though, the product really is perfect. The slant is the right angle and it is sturdy construction. I've used it every day since April and it hasn't gotten messed up at all, like others can. 5Nice makeup brushes for the price - Sigma/MAC dupes I have a lot of makeup brushes and am always looking for more, especially dupes for MAC and Sigma brushes. I mainly hoard eye makeup brushes and like to purchase them individually to get exactly what I need, but went ahead and got this set because it ends up being $3/brush. If you are looking to get started without having to decipher Morphe/Crown brush numerology, this is a great set that will give you everything you need.Let me get the bad out of the way first: the SMELL. These brushes WREAKED of chemical/solvent smell. I assume it is the glue. It took a day or so for the smell to dissipate, but I washed them all before use anyway. I was pretty gentle with washing, so I didn t have problems reshaping them.I do love that Beauty Junkees provides instructions and followup tips/tricks and the bag, although nothing special, is the perfect size for brushes. It is pretty wide so that brushes don t get damaged being stuffed into the bag! These brushes are on par with budget brands like Morphe and Crown, which are also decent dupes for MAC and Sigma. I have mostly Sigma (and Morphe dupes) eye brushes, so I ve compared these Beauty Junkie brushes to them. Some of the Beauty Junkees brushes are a wee bit longer, and sometimes they are thicker/fluffier, sometimes not. That doesn t actually make them better if what you are seeking is precision. However, all brushes applied color evenly and with the density expected. They are also very soft, which I didn t expect from pony hair brushes (I prefer sable over pony). I didn t really have a problem with any of the brushes I tested.All-over Shader - Compared to Sigma E55, B&H Cosmetics 23This is my go-to type of brush to pack on color quickly. It is firm and gives a good coat of color. I use it all over, even in the crease - using the tip to apply precise color then blend it out w/ another brush. I usually like to have several of these on hand, including my MAC 252 and Sigma E60, which are larger brushes. I chose to compare only to the brushes that I had that were pretty much the same size. The BJ brush is slightly longer than the Sigma and B&H Cosmetics brush. The BJ brush is slightly thicker than Sigma but not as thick as the B&H. (The MAC equivalent for this brush would be the 239, but I couldn t find mine to compare.)Blending - Compared to Sigma E25, Morphe M433This is my #2 type of brush. I normally use 2-3 during my makeup routine for more controlled application of different crease colors and then to blend out them out. (As you can see, mine are well-loved/stained/used!) This brush is a little bit longer than both the Sigma and Morphe brushes and also has a different layered/pointed shape. This brush is good for getting precise color into the crease of the eye and would work well for a very defined crease and cut crease look. I think this brush will not wear as well as the Sigma (which is synthetic) and end up looking frazzled like my Morphe ones bc of the layering of different bristle lengths and because it s a natural fiber. It s also not as thick as the other two brushes as well. (The MAC equivalent for this brush would be the 217, but mine is missing!)Tapered Blending - Compared to Sigma E40, Morphe M330This is a bigger fluffy brush and I use this type to blend out everything in the end, and not so much for color application. BJ s brush is also a bit longer, wider, fluffier than the Sigma and Morphe. The Morphe actually has more of a pointed shape and is similar in shape to the BJ Blending (white one). BJ s brush smaller than the B&H 12 tho (which I didn t photograph bc it s so much larger), but it is also large enough to be used as a nose/cupid s bow highlighter. (MAC equiv is 224.)Pencil Brush - Compared to Sigma E30, Morphe M431, MAC 219The BJ brush is slightly longer, but also nice and pointed. I didn t have too much of a problem getting the precision I needed, but it is not a true dupe for the MAC 219, which is a good deal shorter and more pointed. The thickness was on par with MAC tho, while the Sigma and Morphe brushes are almost identical and a tiny bit smaller in circumference. I use this for outer-V color, precise crease color, inner eye and lower lid smudging/grunge look. I also use this shape brush to do a splash of color in the inner arch? - I don t even know what to call it, but it s the gold color in the last photo of Jem makeup.Angled Shader - Compared to Sigma E70The BJ brush is slightly longer and a little bit narrower. For this type of brush, used mainly as a highlighter, the extra length is not a problem. I don t use this brush often tho; I use the all-over shader to do by brown bone. (MAC equiv is 275.)Eye liner - Compared to Sigma E65I don t use these as much unless I want a thicker cat eye using cream/gel liner. The BJ brush is pretty much the same size as the Sigma, but more angled. If I do use this type of brush, it s on my eyebrows to fill in gel color. (MAC equiv is 263.)There are a few I probably won t use too much: the two flat eye liners and the crease brush. The angled one is a little too big for my needs and the flat one is way too big but could be useful for really precise color to the lower lash line. It is nice and stiff. I tend to use 1/8 artist paintbrushes instead of actual eyeliner brushes. The crease brush is smaller version of the tapered blending brush, but is synthetic fiber so it might not pick up color as well. But I m sure I ll grab it every now and then to blend if I don t have a clean blender handy. Or I may try it out with my Colorpop cream eyeshadows.I was going to give only 4 stars because of the smell, but after writing all this and reflecting on the products and value, 5 stars!I received a discount for my honest opinion, which I have provided. 5Love it So, I suck at writing reviews but one thing is for sure. These brushes are bomb. I loved how my eyeshadow ended up. As you can see for yourselves; I decided to challenge the brushes with a sunset eyeshadow look and it come out gorgeous. The brushes are soft giving it somewhat of airbrush finish. I give it a big thumbs up. Totally recommend. 5Great brushI love this brush it s small enough to get into the creases of my eyelids and still large enough to put on any cheek bone highlighting powder. A very excellent choice of brush5Good brush, not a waste of moneyIve had this brush for a long time. Its a good quality brush. Doesn't shed. I've noticed that its a little loose now. Its a good brush but not the best quality brush. But it does the job, inexpensive and has lasted. I recommend this brush, particularly if you want to save your money. But if you can afford it, invest in a stiffer, higher end brush.4Highly RecommendVery pleased with the shape and performance if this brush! Nicely applies my eyeshadow correctly. Feels nice- high quality5LOVE this brush!Great brush, perfectly blends and the company is great, have bought several brushes from them.5Better then Mac!I love this brush! Replaced my Mac 212 brush that retails for 25.00.5Love these brushes I am happy with theses brushes. I've washed the multiple times an have yet to have any fall out. Seller is wonderful. Will order from beauty Junkers again. 5Buy the set now!!! I am no professional makeup artist but I do consider myself a seasoned makeup junkie and I think these brushes are for the most part, fantastic. I find myself reaching for these over some of my MAC and other drugstore favorites.I bought the set with the makeup bag. The stars of the set that stick out the most are the white pencil brush and the angled shader brush. The pencil brush is phenomenal for applying a shimmery hilight color to the inner corners of your eyes and brow bone. It has the perfect density and point for this small area to create a diffused glow with ease. The angled shader brush applies your outer corner color with ease and blends it fantastically with your lid color. The only ones that I don't have as much use for is the white blending brush and the crease brush, which are sadly no match for the legendary MAC 217 and 224, but I am by no means regretful of purchasing the whole set or having them in my arsenal, since they are backups when I get too lazy to clean my other brushes. All in all, this set of beautiful and ridiculously soft brushes are an amazing buy, especially at the price point. This would make a wonderful gift for someone first starting out with makeup or someone who would like to expand their collection. 5Nice quality brush for a low price I used to use a $1 Elf brush from Target, and I had trouble getting a clean line on my slightly bumpy eyelids (as we age, our skin loses elasticity, and this includes our eyelids, which can make make-up application more difficult once you hit a certain age). I decided it was time to pay a little more for a brush with higher quality, tighter bristles, and I'm so glad I did! This brush is a little smaller than the one I was using, which is good, because it gives me more control, and I can make a thinner, cleaner line. I am happy and would buy this product again. 5Good quality for the moneyI am pleased with my purchase. The bristles are nice & soft/thick. It s a little larger than what I was looking for but it gets the job done so no complaints.5Great brush!Love this one for the inner corner highlight. Getting another one to use for blending eyeliner and shadow on the lower lash line.5Versatile brush for lower lash line, highlighting the eye, outer V and MAC 219 dupe!I purchased the beauty junkees pencil brush and feel in love at the first use only. The brush is of really high quality comparable with mac eye brushes. The brush hair is really good, soft and sturdy to serve the purpose. I used for highlighting my eye in tear duct, lower lash line and for the outer V. I am yet to use for smudging eyeliner. I am sure it is going be great in that too. This is a great dupe for the MAC 219 pencil brush. I really love it for the quality, finish and the purpose it serves. I have not washed the brush yet, i hope it should maintain its shape and quality after washing.5They get the job done. First, the shipping was much faster than expected. I like how it comes with a convenient makeup/storage bag. The bristles on all the brushes felt very soft. I had a few concerns. The first concern was that the Pro-tapered blending brush and the Pro-blending brush had a frayed/frizzy look after the first wash, and a few bristles fell out of the Pro-tapered blending brush during the wash. They still felt soft, and performed well during application. The second concern was that some of the brushes appeared too big for my eyes. For instance, the Pro-tapered blending brush was too big for my eyes to apply a transition color, but the Pro-blending brush was perfect for that type of application on my eyes. The last concern is that the Pro-precision eyeliner brush and the Pro-flat definer brush both had bends in the bristles. The bend was still there after the first wash. I can see the light unevenness when I line my lids due to the bend, so then I end up going over the line and the results are a smokey effect. For that reason, I do not want to try to use the gel liner. Overall, I think these brushes are good. I am not a professional makeup artist. I just wanted a comprehensive set of eye brushes for when I want to put on eye shadow, and these brushes get the job done. 4Nice brushes for the price! I think maybe this is a 4-star product, but when you combine the insanely low price with the amazing customer service of this company, they really deserve all 5! I originally ordered a Kabuki eye set, which I wasn't as happy with. Beauty Junkees (the company who makes these) reached out to me and suggested that I try these instead, and even refunded me for the other set.On to this product... for the price, you get a LOT of brushes. 8 to be exact. And a zipper pouch. I threw out the pouch, I have too many makeup bags already and it is nothing special. Here is a quick rundown of the brushes themselves:All over shader: Great staple. This is for packing color on the lid. It's firm and will give a good coat of shadow.Angled shading: This one is a little longer/softer than the shader, and obviously, angled. Perfect for inner corner and under-brow highlightCrease: This is just a long, fluffy eyeshadow brush. Nothing to right home about, but nice for blending out a crease. IMO you can't have too many, b/c the more you have, the better chance there is a clean one :)Tapered blending: Similar to the above crease brush, but the head is a little rounder. I think I prefer this but they are nearly the sameCrease: According to the pictures, this is the white brush. It was the only one I thought was a total fail; the first time I washed it it lost its shape and poofed out, so I tossed it.Eyeliner: I think I would personally find this a little thick for eyeliner, but I use it as an angled brow filling brush and it's just rightFlat definer: I have used this pressing shadow into my lashline as a softer/subtle eyeliner. it's my first brush shaped like this and I find it pretty handyPencil: This ended up being another favorite for me. It's firm, skinny, tapered shape. If you're not worried about being too precise it can can fill a brow in about 2 seconds flat, but I used it the other day to shade my outer corner with a dark shadow and it was so perfect! it put the color exactly where I wanted without flicking powder anywhere. win!Overall, a miss or two with some really great hits. Definitely an incredible value. If you are looking to bulk up for eye brush collection on the cheap this is the way to go! 5All you need I've always had a jumble of various brushes so decided to try this set after seeing some positive reviews on Youtube and I have to say I am really impressed, this is a great eye set. The Pro Blending brush is very similar to the Mac 217, maybe just the tiniest bit taller and more tapered at the top, which I quite like. The Pro Pencil brush is almost identical to the Mac 210, just a little softer and I actually like it better because of that, and having a pencil brush is great for carving out the eye socket, especially if you have more hooded eyes. I think my very favorite brushes in the set are the Pro Crease and the Pro Blending brushes, they are soft and feel nice, and diffuse color in a very good way without overdoing it. I would love if they had a small smudge brush for the lower lash line as well, that would really round off the set nicely but I still think you could buy this set and you would have everything you need, and the price cannot be beat. I'm actually giving away most of my other brushes because I don't really need them anymore now that I have this set. 5
