uselessrough, painful and doesn't remove eyeshadow nor waterproof makeup. I use garnier micellar water, neutrogena makeup remover wipes and neutrogena oil free makeup remover and they all do a better job than these simple pads.1Pleasantly surprisedI thought I was buying basic wipes not mini rounds but for something so small they are mighty when it comes to taking of makeup. They are nice for my sensitive skin and did not cause redness nor did the wipes feel abrasive. I love that I can throw them in my travel bag or just take them anywhere really. They smell nice and not overpowering but as for moisturizing its hard to really say as I put face cream on after using them or I use my face mist.5They're pretty good. These are good wipes. They are plenty moist and are large enough to remove all of my face makeup. I use them when I travel. I took off one star, because I feel like it I use them for longer than a week, they really start to dry the sensitive skin around my eyes out. 4Really like these I've been using these for about a year. I've tried other face wipes, and haven't found anything I like as well. There's no fragrance (except in the moisturizing ones and I don't care for it. It's not a perfume, just the faint smell of some ingredients.) But these are perfect for me. They get all the make-up off and my face feels clean. When looking for these, make sure you look for the micellar wipes. Simple makes some that don't use the micellar water. 5Not a fanI've used Simple's face wipes before and have had no issues with them. I actually prefer them to a lot of the other face wipe brands out there, because they're a bit more gentle on the face and don't smell like a nursing home (looking at you Neutrogena). I thought those were what I was getting when I ordered these, but I guess I didn't really pay attention and ended up getting the eye makeup remover wipes. After the initial "oh crap, I got the wrong thing" surprise of expecting a box of wipes and getting two teeny packs, I decided that even though these weren't want I wanted, they would probably still work. And they do work. They did get all my eye makeup off...it just feels like you're setting fire to your face when you use them. Not only are the pads a pretty rough texture, whatever chemicals are in there felt like they were eating away at my face skin. I had to wipe my eyes with some cold water so they would stop itching/burning.It's insane they're marketing these things as 'sensitive skin'. Unless of course they mean in the sense that your skin will be sensitive after you use these, because you're going to be taking a couple layers of epidermis off with them. Maybe that's what they mean. Ugh.Needless to say, I'm sticking to the regular face wipes from now on. And probably buying at Target instead of Amazon to avoid the confusion.1Perfect for Sensitive Skin These Simple wipes are, without a doubt, the best face wipes I have ever used. I have seen a noticeable improvement in my skin since I started using micellar water products. I will typically use the Bioderma Sensibo H2O on a cotton pad in the morning, and these Simple wipes at night to remove makeup and mascara before I take a shower. These wipes remove stubborn, waterproof eye makeup with a single swipe. Perfect for my sensitive skin. No sticky feeling, residue, or film left behind. You can also use these wipes to cleanse your skin, if you re in a hurry. I would choose these over cult-favorite Neutrogena wipes any day of the week. 5great little padsThese are great little pads to remove eye makeup. Removes waterproof mascara easy with no need to tug on lashes or go over too many times. Does not leave any residue behind or leave my eye lids red like other brands have done. All that and a great price I have and will buy again and again. I can also use just one for both eyes instead of 2 like other brands which are smaller.5Caused Major Allergic Reaction This is a vent, and it's LONG. Move along if you're not in the mood.I just had the most infuriating discussion with a representative from Unilver regarding their Simple brand makeup remover wipes. I called them last week to report my daughter's reaction to their product (her eyelids swelled shut). I wanted to try to isolate what she was actually allergic to, so we don't buy anything with that chemical in it again. My daughter spent the day with ice on her eyes, and had to take benadryl to get the swelling down. She missed an important softball tryout - and she was miserable. So, I get a phone call today. It's Sasha, from Unilever. Well, Hi, Sasha. She wants to get some information from me about my daughter's experience.Sasha: So how old is your daughter?Me: 15Sasha: And she was REMOVING MAKEUP?Me: YesSasha: You let your 15 year old wear MAKEUP?Me: Umm, Yes...Sasha: MmmmmmmmShe then went on to tell me that these wipes are not for minors. They are marketed for adults. And she was very rude, and VERY judgemental about my choice to allow my daughter to wear makeup. It was one of the most ridiculous conversations I've ever had.Keep in mind, there is absolutely no place on the packaging that states that these products are only for adults. I told Sasha that. I read from the actual package. She responded, "Well no, as I already said - it isn't written anywhere. It's just assumed." WTH?So I told her I want to speak to a Supervisor. She said someone would call me in 24 hours, and she hung up on me. In the interest of transparency, I probably said, "I need to speak to someone with some intelligence." Just putting that out there so I don't paint myself as being completely calm and rational at this point.I called Unilever back - and I asked for a manager. I spoke with, "Gee." I have no idea how to spell it, but that's how it sounds.I had the call on speaker and I recorded it. Along with telling me that the wipes are for "mature" skin, she also went on to tell me that she has a baby, and before she uses any new products on her baby, she tests a little first to make sure the baby doesn't have a reaction because that's what parents do. NO WORDS for a few seconds as I tried not to explode.I quietly said, "You do realize that this is a young woman who is learning to drive a car? She is not a baby." I also said, "So you're saying that she should have wasted a wipe - that specifically states it's for sensitive skin - and tested it on an inconspicuous place because it's actually loaded with chemicals?"Her response: "Well, yeah."She then went on to say, "She was probably allergic to something in the wipes." At this point, I'm trying really hard to keep my head from exploding. "You don't say." Then she says, "Well I do apologize that your daughter had some burning and stinging."::::::TICKY-BOOM::::::"What? Did you say burning and stinging? Umm, no. How about her eyelids swelled shut? As in, 'Mom, I can't see anything something is really wrong' kind of reaction. She spent the day with ice packs on her eyes. She had a terrible headache. She had to go to Urgent Care. She needed a mega dose of benadryl and she slept the entire day.I am livid right now. So, I'm passing this along to everyone: this "Simple" product, which is marketed only as, "Kind to Skin" and from "Sensitive Skin Experts" is actually full of chemicals. They will blame you and judge your parenting when there's a reaction - which is completely ridiculous and does nothing to solve the problem. Now they want me to send the product back and sign a medical release because they feel that, "She may have had an existing allergy."I already attempted to write to Unilever online, and I was ignored. 1I like the brand, but this product disappointed me.I didn't like these. I like the brand, but I didn't think these eye makeup remover pads were effective. They are small, so I had to use several to remove my mascara, eye shadow, and eyeliner. It didn't remove my makeup in one wipe like other makeup removers do. Also, they are a bit difficult to get out of the package. I'd try to remove one wipe, but two would come out and I'd have to stuff the second one back into the package. Next time I will stick to the full size wipes.3Pull a Cloth from the Package and Go!I've used many different face wash pads in the past and the Simple brand is the one I stick with religiously. They are gentle on my sensitive skin and large enough to give my face a wipe-over at least three times. At the end, I use them to help remove my eye makeup, too (although those specific pads are also strongly recommended, and I keep both on regular Subscribe and Save rotation). Others that you have to wet to use are a mess, and gone are the days of actual soap and a washcloth. Just pull a prewet cloth out of the package and go!5VERY POOR for waterproof mascaraBought these hoping to get away from the neutrogena wipes. I was hoping for a wipe that would remove my Tarte waterproof mascara as easily as the neutrogena ones do - NOT THESE! These wipes are barely even wet - I m not kidding. They take so much rubbing and effort to remove waterproof mascara and afterwords I look at the wipe and there s like 3 eyelashes that came out. I have to quit using them before all of my lashes fall out. Very disappointed with this product. Anyone looking for something to remove waterproof mascara easily, this is not it - don t waste your time with this product. :(1A moms must have for convenient living. Finally a makeup remover just for eyes that s gentle on my sensitive skin! I haven t found anything that has worked until this. Great on my skin if I use mindfully my eyelashes stay intact. It is on my repurchase list I never let myself run out.5I got this thinking that it was the size of those 5$ ones you get at places like Fredmeyer, but its not even bigger than my ...Are you kidding me? Almost $5 for such a small amount? I got this thinking that it was the size of those 5$ ones you get at places like Fredmeyer, but its not even bigger than my hand. Very very misleading. I guess it was my fault for not looking at dimensions, but still...1I love these micellar wipes I love these micellar wipes!! I ve tried plenty of face wipes - micellar and standard. These are my favorite because they first and foremost do the best job at removing makeup. Second, they don t make my sensitive skin break out, likely because they don t leave that weird face wipe residue after you use it. Third, they don t have a scent! My nose is also pretty sensitive to fragrancea and these don t bother me at all. These are great after a long day, travel or just as a refresher. And they are super affordable compared to other wipes, though I d certainly pay more for them. Great value. 5Not soft, not kind to skin around eyes. Not a fan. I have sensitive skin for sure so I generally buy products that are labeled as such. I try to stick to "natural" methods for as many products as I can but I wear seriously waterproof mascara because I am a swim instructor, and mascara is the one makeup item I love; but I digress... Very hard to get out of the package, I always pull 3 or so and then stuff them back in. They do remove my mascara, but these are NOT kind to skin, they are actually kind of rough and feel like an exfoliating wipe and I know I probably have what is considered to be "mature skin" now but these little circles of sandpaper hurt the skin under my eyes to the point that I can't wait to rinse and put on a moisturizer. My daughter doesn't like them either- she feels the same way and doesn't have sensitive skin. I stopped buying them.2Rough texture The texture of the wipe is somewhat scratchy. I had to rub my skin somewhat vigorously with the wipe to get my makeup off, and then after a week of everyday use, I broke out all over my forehead and nose. My nose eventually cleared up after I stopped using the wipes, but my forehead is not clear yet. Pretty disappointed since these were recently voted the best makeup wipes somewhere on the internet. I'm sure they work for someone else, but obviously not for me! 1
